In a ring format, the laboratory has state-of-the-art particle accelerators at its core, capable of producing and controlling the movement of electrons at speeds close to that of light.<\/p>\n<p>These electron accelerators generate synchrotron light, which reveals the microstructure of organic and inorganic materials.<\/p>\n<p>Powerful magnets, installed inside the tunnel through which the beam of light passes, are used to accelerate and keep Sirius\u2019 speed constant. Those magnets heat up and need a cooling system.<\/p>\n<p>Companies, universities and other research institutions rent space in the laboratory and use Sirius light through powerful microscopes to carry out the most varied studies and scientific investigations.<\/p>\n<p>The client\u2019s demand was for an energy efficient cooling system, which would allow savings with reduced operating costs.
